What to do when you travel?

A person suffering from Chronic kidney disease can travel if he or she takes adequate precaution. You can ask your consulting Nephrologist about how to go about this.

Below are some of the common things to keep in mind

  • Do Not miss Dialysis - make a note of how many times a week you would need dialysis and make plans for your trip accordingly
  • Diet - Consult your dietician about the types of food you will be likely to encounter in the region you are travelling.
  • Medicines- Take a stock of the medicines that your nephrologist has prescribed to you and fully stock the medicine for the duration of the trip.
  • Case Papers - Another recommended practice is to carry your case file with the latest medical reports and preciption
